Legend
Legend Of Sumerian origin, Sagittarius is thought to represent a centaur, a war-like creature, half-man and half-horse who has drawn his bow. His arrow points to Antares, the bright red heart of Scorpius, the scorpion. The archer is avenging Orion who was slain by the scorpion’s sting. In Greek mythology, some identify Sagittarius as the centaur Chiron, who was said to have changed himself into a horse to escape his jealous wife, Rhea, and to tutor Jason.
