November Floral Influences & Inspiration

Floral Influences & Inspiration

Welcome October! Fall is here. Enjoy the crisp sunny days.

We love finding you fun ways to look at jewelry and its impact on our day-to-day lives! This year we’ve decided to look at flowers and their association with each month and their influences on jewelry.

As with many of our months, October also has two flowers Marigold and Cosmos.

We hope you have as much fun with this as our previous newsletters and learn some interesting facts along the way!

Don’t forget to RSVP for our Trunk Show with Attilio Zanetti too. Reminder details below.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

Chrysanthemum and Peony

Chrysanthemum symbolizes honesty, happiness, longevity, joy and loyalty.

It was the Chinese who first cultivated chrysanthemums in the 15th century. They are commonly called Mums. They have thousands of varieties…pompoms, buttons, spiders and spoons to name a few. They range in color from yellow and orange to red, purple, pink and white.

Peony symbolizes wealth, honor, romance, love, good fortune and happy marriage.

There are more than 25 species of peony, and their blossoms can grow up to 10 inches in diameter. They bloom in late spring through early summer. Although they come in a huge variety of colors, usually they are found in purple, pink, red and white. At my home, we have spectacular ones in yellow!

Did You Know

Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum.
In Japan, the chrysanthemum is considered a symbol of perfection because of the way its petals unfold in an orderly fashion.

This in turn inspired Confucius to use the blooms as an object of meditation. In Japan today, the chrysanthemum holds a place of honor as the emblem of the Imperial Family for more than 1200 years.

Peony

Peony As peonies bloom, they open to three times their original size. Ants are attracted to the nectar of peonies and help protect the buds from other insects.

Peonies close up tight at night, and reopen their blossoms in the morning

Fun Facts

Chrysanthemum In Japan, it has its own holiday, on September 9th…Chrysanthemum Day, the Festival of Happiness.

Fun Facts

Peonies are popular as cut flowers due to their long vase life and vibrant colors.

Our Fabio Angri collection on my website is inspired by flora and fauna, which was in turn the inspiration for these fun newsletters.
