Let’s have fun with the Zodiac - Virgo

As the Summer draws to an end and we head closer to Fall we hope that you will continue to enjoy our fun with the Zodiac!

Have we reached your sign yet? Do you associate with it? Have you learned any fun new facts?

When we started this journey together who knew where it would bring us? We love finding you and fun ways to look at jewelry and the amount it impacts our day-to-day lives!

From looking at precious and semi-precious gems, then birthstones, then colours and what they represent in my world of jewelry.

We hope you’re enjoying our introduction to Astrology and the Zodiac and their impact on gems and jewelry. Zodiac signs have roots in myth and legend.

Did you know that the origin of the word “zodiac” comes from a Greek word meaning circle of animals? Every zodiac sign has a healing crystal and gemstone associated with it

This month is all about Virgo! The 6th sign of the Zodiac!

We hope you have as much fun with this as our previous newsletters and learn some interesting facts along the way!

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

Welcome Virgo

Virgo August 23 – September 22

Virgo - 6th sign of the Zodiac…practical, hard-working and analytical. In addition, they are kind, grounded, and trustworthy…happy to help anyone in need.

Traits People born under Virgo are said to have a practical approach to life. They are immensely talented at assessing the details of any situation and finding solutions to problem-solve. They are natural-born organizers who value consistency, loyalty, and productivity. They are perfectionists who analyze and plan everything down to the last detail …a trait that sometimes leads to obsessiveness. Virgo is a bit prone to anxiety or worry.

If you are Virgo you share these traits with, Beyonce, Hugh Grant, Cameron Diaz, Pink, Idris Elba, Amy Poehler, Salma Hayek, Keanu Reeves, Richard Gere, Blair Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, and Michael Buble. What a very interesting group!

Perhaps you are born on the cusp and associate with a different sign?

Interesting Facts

Symbol Young maiden carrying a sheaf of wheat. She is depicted as both a fertility goddess in Babylonian culture and a harvest maiden in Greek culture. Virgo the Maiden is the largest of the zodiac constellations.

Legend

In Greek mythology, Virgo is Persephone, the daughter of the Greek goddess Demeter, who ruled over the harvests. Persephone was kidnapped by Hades, the god of the underworld. Demeter’s grief caused crops to wither. Zeus’ intervention commanded that Persephone return so harvests could again be fruitful. Her return coincides with the start of springtime.

Element

Earth - as the goddess of wheat and agriculture it represents a deep-rooted presence in the material world.  Virgo is logical, practical, and systematic in its approach to life…a perfectionist at heart who is willing to improve skills through diligent and consistent practice.

Gemstone

Blue sapphire – brings order and clarity to the mind, increasing the ability to access spiritual wisdom. Blue is usually associated with the heavens and Virgo benefits from this reminder of a higher perspective. Blue sapphire helps to increase mental flexibility and thus help Virgo release some stubborn attitudes and open itself to new possibilities.
